Hello!
I was wondering whose Collegiate 4-H clubs held events that provided campus visits to 4-H youth?
If so, here's a few other questions I had:
A. what time of the year do you hold it?
B. How many Collegiate 4-H members volunteer with this event?
C. what kind of activities do the youth get to participate in during your event?
D. How much does it cost each participant? (did your club fundraise for the event?)
E. have you implemented any community service projects into this event?
F. How many months in advance do you start advertising (how do you advertise as well!??)? _________________ Indiana University Collegiate 4-H President

At Oklahoma State, Collegiate 4-H holds an annual event each February with an average turnout between 1,500-2,000 4-H youth plus their parents. Typically we have about 20 Collegiate 4-H'ers help out with the event, and the youth get tours of campus, eat pizza, meet our basketball team and get to see them play. Each participant also gets a Collegiate 4-H Game Day t-shirt and the whole event costs around $15 per person. We don't fundraise for the event, it is actually a fundraiser for our club. All advertising is done by county Extension staff for us and we usually advertise about 2 months out. Some of the proceeds are donated back to the 4-H community and/or charities, part of them help fund our club scholarship, and part of them pays for delegates to attend regional and national conferences. _________________ Samantha Ephgrave

Indiana University Collegiate 4-H will be holding an IU Collegiate 4-H Host Weekend this fall
A. what time of the year do you hold it?- October, before college applications are due.
B. How many Collegiate 4-H members volunteer with this event? 15-25 members will participate
C. what kind of activities do the youth get to participate in during your event?- We're looking forward to having icebreakers, socials, admissions/financial aid visit, scholarship & college application workshop, classes, appointments with academic advisors, campus tour, movie night, bookstore shopping trip, a special dinner at various ethnic restaurants in town, bowling in our union, a picnic, and a service project.
D. How much does it cost each participant? (did your club fundraise for the event?) $30 with donations from restaurants, campus departments, and a foundation grant.
E. have you implemented any community service projects into this event?
We're thinking about either an Operation Military Kids or Jill's House. We want it to be an atypical service project that could be replicated in their home counties if deserved.
F. How many months in advance do you start advertising (how do you advertise as well!??)? The event's in October, applications due in September, and we're sending blurbs to every county office to put in their county newsletter for June-September that will explain the program and link to our club website. (Some have bi-monthly or monthly newsletters) Registration materials will be available on our website, so that they can view links to university resources and information about our club while they're looking over the registration materials. I hope that our club members will be able to give presentations on this in their county 4-H Jr. Leaders meetings over the summer as well. Our state jr. leaders conference and state fair youth conference would also serve as great opportunities for publicity, but I'm unsure if we'll have them this year.
What age range is invited? 11th and 12th graders in Indiana 4-H.
I'd love to hear about your club's efforts! _________________ Indiana University Collegiate 4-H President
